Someone was looking for a surgeon, and since I can heal, I got involved.

We were separated. Neal was trying to get back to me and Henry. And then someone tricked him into using dark magic to do it, and he wouldn't have survived it - except his father couldn't stand to lose him.
He used magic to absorb Neal's life into his. They existed as one person, neither really living at all.

I get that I'm supposed to say no, of course I didn't. But the truth is, I wish we could have had some time to try to find a way to save him. Or to let him say goodbye to Henry.
There just wasn't any time for that. His father had information that we needed, and not knowing was putting everyone, including Henry, at risk.

So Neal made me separate them.

Sounds like you did the right thing. You respected what he wanted you to do.

I'm sorry you had to do that though. It must have been hard.

If there ever comes a time where I need you to do something like that for me, I need you to do it and not feel guilty. I need you to find happiness if we're ever pulled apart, okay?

I know. I'll make sure of it.

I told her to give me a few days. I didn't tell her I've done something like this before, I didn't want to get her hopes up.
